Subject: Top Notch
There are two aspects to recordings on this site. One is simple the quality. Face it some shows while musically great are captured in less than stellar fashion. The first things to note about this recording it is near professional quality.

The only thing about music on this site is the show itself. Maybe the show itself is a 4 1/2 but it's dang good. Andrew's own songs plus his selections of covers is amazingly good. As a fan of Railroad Earth I wasn't sure what to expect on that front, and he exceeds my expectations. The band is wonderful. David Butler is always good, but who perk by years was unknown to me Nick Bockrath who has a sound I could fall in love with. Andrew Railroad Earth's bandmate Andy Goessling sits on the second set and good show hits overdrive showing his ability on mandolin and sax. At times Andrew's vocals are a little thin, but on his delightful version of Long way to Go they are spot on. To front a full band he could use a bit more natural projection. A sure sleeper of a show that I didn't really have high expectation for, but is a keeper in my collection for sure.
